Elmer Fudd - Joined us in Oct. 2009 and left us on Oct. 20th 2025

In October of 2009, a black tomcat who was probably 1 or 2 years old appeared on our front porch. It was close to October 31st, and my husband said it might not be safe for that black cat to be left outside on Halloween. We brought him in, not knowing if our 1 inside cat and 3 inside dogs would accept him.

We didn’t have to worry, though, because Elmer immediately took over as the undisputed ruler of the cat, the dogs and us!

He allowed only kittens, but dogs of any age to join the household.

He would patrol the house constantly to make sure everyone was behaving.

Elmer was deeply loved. I can’t believe he is gone. My heart is broken.
