My family and I were looking for the perfect lap dog. Originally, we decided we wanted a female to rescue, but God had other plans. About a week after starting the search, we met Harvey. He was nothing short of a perfect fit. We took him home with us the very next day. We were blessed with five short years of watching our little fur baby live his absolute best life growing up with our children.

I own a salon next to our house. He greeted every customer by marking his territory once their car was in park. Not only did my family love him dearly, but hundreds of customers that came through loved him as well. He was the best "shop dog".

His favorite part of the day was riding with mom to pick up the kids from school. Hanging his head out of the window as we drove through the car pick up line. My kids were so excited to see him riding shot gun. Harvey was always ready to pose for a picture with our three kids, Layla, Lyric and Ryan. He loved to bask in the yard on a warm sunny day, go fishing with mom and dad in the boat, and play fight with his sister, Alice. He was the only other animal that our cat, Star, tolerated. She would even cuddle next to him on the couch.

Not only was he easy to love, he was beautiful and intelligent. I'll never forget the way his head would perk up, one ear flat as could be, and the other pointed straight to the sky when we called his name. The sound of his paws traveling through the house with excitement chasing our son, Ryan.

Harvey fought a short battle of prostate cancer within the past month. Ultimately, we believe he won the fight. Now he's running along side our Lord and savior in Heaven. One day, we will see him again. Thank you God, for blessing us with Harvey.
